Our Heritage

The Heritage Thunderbird Foundation is the official fund-raising arm of the Thunderbirds Alumni Association and the owner of the sculpture known as Heritage Thunderbird—“These Names are Mine!” (TNAM!)

The primary purpose of the Foundation is to maintain the permanent roll of those who are certified by their commander/leaders as being worthy of the title “Thunderbird Alumnus” or “Thunderbird Alumna” (Collectively “Alumni”), and to post those names on the TNAM! sculpture. The Foundation’s secondary purpose is to fund works such as scholarship, heraldry, history and educational programs and to contribute goods and services to the active Thunderbird squadron that are not funded by Federal funds plus any other charitable works the Trustees deem appropriate.

The Foundation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under IRS paragraph 501(c)(3) thereby enabling its donors a tax deduction for their contributions to the fullest extent of the law.
